The CareForward Programme is an initiative tailored exclusively for care leavers who aspire to thrive in the health and care sector, equipping them to apply directly for vacancies or apprenticeships within North West London NHS Trusts.

Our programme is meticulously designed to empower care leavers like you to realise your dreams within the healthcare sector. By completing the CareForward Programme, you will have the opportunity to apply directly for positions within North West London NHS Trusts, some of the largest employers in the area, marking the beginning of your career in the NHS.

With a mission to pave the way from care to caregiving, we are committed to equipping you with the skills, knowledge, and confidence needed to excel in health and care environments.

A Flexible Learning Schedule

Our 8-week programme is delivered face-to-face at our training centre in Uxbridge, with classes held on two half-days a week, commencing in early February 2024 (Tuesdays and Wednesdays) from 10:00am to 2:00pm.

From week 5 of the programme, learners will be able to start applying for roles.

 

What Will You Learn?

The programme comprises two core areas:

  1. Accredited learning in preparation for work in health and care.
  2. Individualised employability support, including building your confidence, resilience, interview preparation, and crafting an effective CV for roles within the NHS.

Dive into the world of healthcare by attaining the Pearson BTEC Level 2 Certificate in Preparing Adults to Work in Adult Social Care or the Pearson BTEC Level 3 Certificate in Preparing to Work in Adult Social Care. These certifications are specially tailored for individuals aspiring to flourish in the health and care sector.

In the Level 2 Programme, You Will Explore:

  • Principles of Communication in Adult Social Care Settings
  • Principles of Personal Development in Adult Social Care Settings
  • Principles of Diversity, Equality, and Inclusion in Adult Social Care Settings
  • Principles of Safeguarding and Protection in Health and Social Care
  • Introduction to Duty of Care in Health, Social Care, or Children and Young People’s Settings
  • Understanding the Role of the Social Care Worker
  • Understanding Person-centered Approaches in Adult Social Care Settings
  • Understanding Health and Safety in Social Care Settings
  • Understanding How to Handle Information in Social Care Settings

In The Level 3 Programme, You Will Explore:

  • Principles of Safeguarding and Protection in Health and Social Care
  • Understand the Role of the Social Care Worker
  • Principles of Communication in Adult Social Care Settings
  • Principles of Personal Development in Adult Social Care Settings
