Lead Adult Care Worker - Dynamic Training

As a lead adult care worker you will make a positive difference to someone’s life when they are faced with physical, practical, social, emotional or intellectual challenges. You will be expected to exercise judgement and take appropriate action to support individuals to maintain their independence, dignity and control. Adult Care Workers will in some circumstances have delegated responsibility for the standard of care provided and may supervise the work of other care workers. Lead Adult Care Workers may work in residential or nursing homes, domiciliary care, day centres or some clinical healthcare settings.

Entry requirements

You must undertake an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service process and provide the result prior to starting

The Care Certificate must be achieved as part of the Apprenticeship Standard.
Level 3 Diploma in adult care. This is the qualification that is promoted and valued by employers.
Achieve Level 2 English and maths

Programme details

You will be allocated a Skills & Development Coach who will support and guide you for the duration of your apprenticeship. The apprenticeship programme will be delivered as blended learning. Blended learning is a combination of both online and face to face delivery. You will need to have good internet access and a suitable device such as a smart phone, laptop, or tablet to work on. Microsoft Teams is used for coaching sessions and ZOOM is currently used for taught sessions. Please discuss accessibility with your employer as these applications are required, in order for you to complete your training.

This apprenticeship usually takes 12 months to complete during which you will participate in training, development and on-going review activities. These typically include: • Induction which is specific to your workplace and at a minimum meets the 15 standards required by the Care Quality Commission [as set out in the Care Certificate] • Study days and training courses • Mentoring/buddy support • Completion of workbooks or a portfolio through which you will gather evidence of your progress • Structured one to one reviews of your progress with your employer and Dynamic Training.

The Level 3 Diploma in adult care is completed with the support of Dynamic Training.

Assessment gateway

Your employer will make the decision as to when you are ready to undertake the end point assessment. In order to be put forward for end point assessment, you will need to have achieved the key requirements of your apprenticeship.

End point assessment

The End point assessment is undertaken by an independent assessment organisation chosen by your employer and comprises of a situational judgement test and a professional discussion. In order to complete and achieve your apprenticeship, you will need to pass both components.
