Salary: Day rate of £200 plus expenses.
Locations: Travel to employer’s premises in West, North and Central London and/or Surrey and surrounding boroughs. (subject to freelancers availability).
Freelance Role Summary
The Facilitating Trainer is a vital member of the Oliver McGowan Project Team, responsible for delivering training on learning disabilities and autism to health and social care professionals across Dynamic Training's customer base. This role involves building rapport and communication lines with co-trainers who have lived experience, ensuring an inclusive and impactful training environment.
Main Duties of the Job
- Deliver high-quality training on learning disabilities and autism to health and social care staff across various organisations.
- Collaborate with Experts by Lived Experience co-trainers, ensuring co-trainers are mentored and effectively ready for delivery.
- Engage with the Dynamic Training Oliver McGowan Project Team to strengthen capability and promote best practices within client organisations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Role model exemplary behaviour in terms of conduct, attitude, and performance while delivering the Oliver McGowan Mandatory Training on Learning Disability and Autism and as a representative of Dynamic Training.
- Effectively support Experts by Lived Experience co-trainers, ensuring they are fully included and supported in the delivery of the sessions, helping them to develop skills and confidence.
- Provide reasonable adjustments to support the individual needs of the training teams prior to, during, and after training sessions.
- Maintain registration as an NHS England-accredited Oliver McGowan Mandatory Trainer by successfully attending any required mandated training and standardisation to keep current.
- Support the Oliver McGowan training teams in the preparation of training sessions and the post-session review/ improvement cycle/ updates to ensure high-quality training delivery.
- Lead Oliver McGowan Mandatory training sessions – Tier 2.
- Ensure the safety and confidence of training participants and the training team in their surroundings, acting on safeguarding and health and safety concerns in line with organisational policies.
- Understand the “Train the Trainer” information regarding legal aspects, keeping up to date with current and emerging thinking in health and social care practice, learning disability and autism, laws of consent (UK), The Mental Capacity Act 2005, The Human Rights Act 1998, The Autism Act 2009, Do Not Attempt Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (DNACPR) case law, Learning Disabilities Mortality Review (LeDeR), and other associated data.
- Understand and respond to a range of complex queries and challenges from delegates during training, identifying the correct response from the range of factual and most up-to-date material available.
