Occupational Profile

The higher level apprenticeship is designed for individuals in the following job roles;

Office Manager
Supporting sustainability within an office environment, assessing, managing and monitoring risk, communicating with colleagues and stakeholders, managing an office facility, managing projects, chairing meetings, overseeing customer service delivery and contributing to innovation. Communicating with colleagues, evaluating and solving business problems, making decisions, preparing, co-ordinating and monitoring operational plans, implementing, monitoring and maintaining administrative services and co-ordinating events.

Personal Assistant
Communicating with colleagues and stakeholders, preparing, co-ordinating and monitoring operationalAdministration Team Leader
plans, planning and organising events, reporting data, preparing contract specifications and monitoring and evaluating contracts.

Business Development Executive
Communicating with colleagues and stakeholders, negotiating with customers, planning and organising meetings, chairing meetings, developing and delivering presentations, managing budgets and developing new ideas for products and services. 

Programme qualifications

The apprenticeship comprises of:

  • Level 4 Diploma in Business Administration (knowledge qualification) 42 credits
  • Level 4 NVQ Diploma in Business Administration (competence qualification) 52 credits

Programme delivery

This programme takes a minimum of 12 months to complete during which you will participate in training, development and on- going review activities. These typically include:

  • Induction which is specific to your workplace
  • Study days and training courses in work time
  • Mentoring/buddy support
  • Completion of a portfolio through which you gather evidence of your progress
  • Structured one to one reviews of your progress and development with your employer and Dynamic Training

Entry requirements

Candidates seeking to undertake this apprenticeship be able to demonstrate ability equivalent to or exceeding Level 2 in English and mathematics.

Initial assessment

Initial assessment will be used to ensure that you have a fair opportunity to demonstrate your ability. Learning programmes can then be tailored to meet a range of abilities and to recognise prior knowledge and experience.

Assessment

Apprenticeships are a mixture of skills assessment and the delivery of new skills and knowledge. Assessment is undertaken at the workplace whilst you perform your job using a range of methods which include portfolio building, professional discussion and
direct observations by an assessor.

Completion times

Completion times range from generally 12 months for an Intermediate level to 18 months for an Advanced level apprenticeship. However, these times can vary depending on your skills, experience and the progress.

Progression

Progression opportunities also include:

  • further or higher education to undertake business related or other qualifications, including foundation degrees in areas such as business, business management, and business administration
  • a range of business and management undergraduate programmes
  • a range of business or management professional qualifications at level 5 and above
  • further employment opportunities within their current job role/alternative job roles
    possible membership of professional bodies
