Role profile

  • Ideally your role should be accountable to a more senior manager or business owner.
  • Roles may include: Operations Manager, Regional Manager, Divisional Manager, Department Manager and specialist managers.
  • Your role will be working in the private, public or third sector and in all sizes of organisation, specific responsibilities and job titles will vary, but the knowledge, skills and behaviours needed will be the same.
  • Your key responsibilities may include creating and delivering operational plans, managing projects, leading and managing teams, managing change, financial and resource management, talent management, coaching and mentoring.
  • Your role will manages teams and/or projects, and achieving operational or departmental goals and objectives, as part of the delivery of the organisations strategy.

Professional recognition and Progression

On completion you can:

  • Register as full members with the Chartered Management Institute and/or the Institute of Leadership & Management
  • Apply for Chartered Manager status through the CMI after 3 years’ of management experience.

Entry requirements

Entry requirements will be agreed with individual employers (typically five GCSEs at Grade C or higher).

Programme details

The apprenticeship programme will be delivered as blended learning. Blended learning is a combination of both online and face to face delivery. You will need to have good internet access and a suitable device such as a smart phone, laptop, or tablet to work on. Microsoft Teams is used for coaching sessions and ZOOM is currently used for taught sessions. Please ensure that you have access to ZOOM and Microsoft Teams and are permitted to use these applications in the workplace in order to complete your training.

You will have the opportunity to build a portfolio of evidence of your underpinning knowledge and training through regular assessment. Dynamic Training makes use of video and audio technology wherever possible to capture reflective and holistic evidence as it occurs. This includes feedback from line managers, direct reports, peers and customers/stakeholders through 360 degree.

The programme incorporates:

Knowledge and skills in: organisational performance / Interpersonal excellence and personal effectiveness and developing required behaviours.

In addition it is recommended that you:

  • Register with a relevant professional body to provide access to management resources, wider networks, and CPD activities. This is alongside the resources provided by Dynamic Training.
  • Undertake regular performance reviews undertaken by a senior manager.
  • Undertake a work based project typically during the last 6 months of the apprenticeship

The topic/coverage of the project will be agreed between you, your employer and Dynamic Training, and will be of benefit to the business.  The portfolio of evidence gathered with Dynamic Training will support you towards completion of this project.

Should you be without level 2 English and maths, this will have to be achieved through Dynamic Training Functional Skills support. You will also be offered the opportunity to achieve Functional Skills Level 2 ICT.

Assessment gateway

Your employer will make the decision as to when you are ready to undertake the end point assessment. In order to be put forward for end point assessment, you will need to have achieved the key requirements of your apprenticeship.

End point assessment

The end point assessment is undertaken by an independent assessment organisation chosen by your employer and comprises of five components, knowledge test, structured competency based interview, assessment of portfolio of evidence, assessment of the work based project & professional discussion.
